Day 4

I skipped a day yesterday. I didn't get home until late at night. However, it did give me an idea of what to write about.

1) (Almost) free days off. I spent a perfect day at the Texas Renaissance Festival with my mom.

Where you can see people dressed like this:

Awesomeness. My knights in shining armor.

Day 3

Everyday I try to find new things to be grateful for, so with that in mind, here is today's list.

1) The kid's menu at fast food restaurants. I swear this is one of the secrets to staying thin. I remember reading somewhere that today's kid size was an adult regular size back in the 1950s. And seeing how big many Americans have gotten I believe that it is true.

2) A Good Read. This is book is awesome. It reads like spy movie and you both love, admire and hate the heroine all at the same time.

3) Mr. Whitley. He is a gentleman that works in the department where I am studying. He's wonderful and is always trying to help the students. He tracked down some study materials that I needed. The man is a legend.

Day 2

Day 2 of my gratitude experiment. I thought long and hard about what to write so here goes.....

1. When you are coming home after a long day and there is little to no traffic.

2. New bras. Sounds strange but you can definitely feel it when you need a new one.

3.  Fresh clean clothes right out of the dryer.

4. My glasses. I would be legally blind without them. Thank you whoever invented them.

5. Gift cards. Makes shopping for presents soooooo much easier!

Day 1

I decided to start a new journal today. To be more specific, I am starting a new gratitude journal. It sounds kinda of corny, but if Oprah thinks it is a good idea, who am I to disagree? So here goes:

1. My mom. It is true, that moms are the best. She is always looking out for me and encouraging me to give it my all.

2. My beat-up old van. It get me from point A to point B and other drivers always know to stay out of my way.

3. Knowing most of the answers to an exam. I love the feeling of taking an exam and knowing most of the answers.

4. Being an American. I know we complain a lot as Americans but it is still a better place to live in than 90% of the rest of the world. Trust me you don't want to be from the Congo or Belarus.

5. Hot shower every morning. Days I don't get one, I really feel it.
